LGBT Life at U of M

The University of Michigan strives to be LGBT-friendly and affirming. The first college LGBT resource center in the United States was founded at the University of Michigan in 1971.

In 2006, The University of Michigan was named one of the "Best of the Best Top 20" campuses in the nation for LGBT students in The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students. There are many student groups, events, and community resources for LGBT students at the University of Michigan.
